The Appeals Unit handles all the appeals to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals from convictions and sentencings in the district court for defendants represented by our office. The Unit also files petitions for writ of certiorari in the Supreme Court and handles the briefing and argument there in the event the Court grants review. Appeals attorneys, in addition, work with trial attorneys representing petitioners on writs of habeas corpus upon appointment of our office by the district court.
