Mythri Jayaraman is an Assistant Federal Defender in the Trial Unit. She began her legal career in Philadelphia with the Defender Association, where she worked for fifteen years as a trial attorney handling various serious felonies, including capital and non-capital homicides. Ms. Jayaraman has also worked on economic and criminal justice projects in the international arena in Afghanistan, Peru, Tunisia, and other countries. She recently co-authored, along with the International Legal Foundation, Pre-Trial Motions: A Primer, which sets out the framework for pretrial release and rights-based pretrial litigation in the international sphere. She has tried numerous jury trials and is fluent in several languages. Ms. Jayaraman graduated from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
