Katrina Young

Assistant Federal Defender

Katrina Young became an Assistant Federal Defender in the Trial Unit in June 2019. Prior to joining the Federal Community Defender Office, she spent seven years as a trial attorney at the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where she represented individuals accused of attempted murder, gun offenses, major sex crimes, assault, armed robbery, drug offenses, and other major crimes in state court. At the Defender Association, she gained extensive trial experience and specialized in complex cases, most recently as an attorney in the Mental Health Special Defense Unit. She earned a Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007, and she earned her Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2011.
